Aerospace software advice reignites my career

I work at a large software company serving the Aerospace industry, and a while back I found myself leading a small team on a special project with one of our customers. I came into it as project manager with a very traditional view of the world: structured plans, defined roles, the usual playbook. The problem was, it wasn't landing. I was missing the mark with my team, and missing it with the customer too.

Half out of curiosity and half out of quiet desperation, I went looking online for a platform that would let me collect anonymous feedback, something that would push people to be honest with me. That's how I found Honestli, and it turned out to be career changing.

What came back was eye-opening. My team walked me through the benefits of modern software management and how those approaches actually worked for them. The customer weighed in too, and was genuinely constructive. Going in, I'd been nervous. Opening yourself up to anonymous feedback can feel like handing people a free shot. But Honestli did a great job of guarding me against negative attacks. If it even needed to; the responses I got back were thoughtful, not cruel.

Now I'm using that same feedback loop to drive a whole wave of other improvements. I freaking love it.
